National Guard Soldiers
| I am currently living in barracks that are pretty nice. We'll be in them for about another week, and then it's back to the FOB at Camp Funston. We are living on a floor with some lower enlisted regular army guys. They are pigs. Basically, every morning, a 1LT and a SFC sweep and mop the hallway. Today was my day. It couldn't be an easier task, that's why it blows my mind that in this modern "Army of One" the other floors of this barracks look like someone drove a tractor down the hall way. When I was a private in the regular army, I would have been smoked into oblivion for living like that. The National Guard guys in my team don't want to live like that. This morning, I ran with Doc again. We ran the 2.75 mile loop 2 minutes faster than we did on Tuesday. Nothing else to report at this time. It's pretty boring here. |

post a commentYou could challenge some of the enlisted guys to some running/lifting/situp type competitions everyday, where the loser has to sweep and mop. That way, you get in the exercise, plus the floors stay clean, or something like that...you know, if you're bored.
