Yesterday, Partamian asked M to run this race (which happens to be on M's birthday weekend) since Partamian did the same on his birthday also. M agreed, however, M has been extremely slack in his running because of his overwhelming workload and overextended commitments the past two months, so M decided it was high time to get back to it. This morning, M hit the treadmill for three miles and then did 15 minutes on the stationary bike, working up quite a stink. However, having been unaccustomed to the morning workout for a while, M realized (a little too late) that he had left his work clothes at home. Without having enough time to go back home to retrieve them, M was forced to put his sweaty clothes back on and head to the K-Mart (the only store nearby and open) to purchase some dressy clothes for the office. Now, M hasn't shopped at a K-Mart in a long, long time. but I tell you what, M walked out with some snazzy new threads for a grand total of $23, and still managed to only be 20 minutes late to the office. The further embarrasing part of the story was that M worked out with one of the partner's at his job. This successful partner, who had just the day before, asked M to work with him on some projects, had quite a laugh when he came out of the shower room with his workout clothes on. Fortunately, said partner has a good sense of humor and (hopefully) didn't lose faith in M's ability to be on top of his game.
