Duluth Fall Festival 5K Road Race
| One of the reasons I started blogging was to have a little accountability for my workouts. Eventually, I'll have a separate blog just for running and working out called Partamian's Progress. Until I get that going, I'll just tell you all about my run this morning. I ran the Duluth Fall Festival 5K this morning. I'm a really slow runner. I weigh 208 lbs right now (I should be 185 lbs - 190 lbs) and the extra weight is killing my times. Which reminds me... I want to start a 5K series for guys over 200 lbs, like a Clydesdale only series. Anyway, the first two miles were down hill, so I did the first mile in 7:50, which is screaming fast for me. The second mile I hit at 16:40. I was pretty much whooped at that point. After that, it was time to pay the piper. The rest was uphill. I walked a good chunk of that last mile. I was weighing 215 a few weeks ago. If I keep running the way I have been lately, it will come off. I just have to stick to it. I got long sleeve T-shirt with a nice fall design on it. One of the better race shirt designs I have seen. The Race was part of a festival, hence the name. There were lots of vendors selling arts and crafts type stuff. We (Anne and Dagmar came along) found the Bethlehem's Best Gourmet Sauces tent. We bought the Award winning Habanero Relish and the Cilantro Salsa. The stuff is awesome. I even received the "Hot Lips" prize for trying the Fiery Furnace Hot Sauce. It was right up there with Dave's Insanity Sauce (Special Edition), but I think it had a better flavor. Well, that's all for right now. |

post a commentWhen you organize that race series, let me know!
I've long thought that every race ought to be weight+age adjusted, but that's what all us aging 270lb runners think.
