Hello From Zabul... or Zabol

I am now out in Zabul Province. I'm here temporarily to check on construction projects in the area. I flew to a remote FOB before getting to my current location. That was an interesting couple of days. Thanks Taliban! The FOB I was flying to, was under attack (as usual for this place). Therefore, the bird I was on went to another FOB first, to drop off some supplies and mail until my destination cooled down. I'm not sure why there was a guy in a bunny suit on the LZ at the other FOB... but here's the proof. I eventually made it to the remote FOB and we were only under "slight attack" (said a Sergeant) as we landed and unloaded the bird. It was like that for the 2 days I was there. Incoming mortars make a funny sound as they fly over your head. The sound of the impact isn't quite as humorous.
