Just another lunch time posting

Lunch today: A low-carb protein bar and a big cup of coffee. Not exactly a healthy meal, but… whatever.

When I was at the Git, show a couple of weeks ago, I was talking to a friend who said she had seen an all girl Iron Maiden cover band. I thought these have to be some really cool chicks.

So, here they are... The Iron Maidens,

Oh... in case anyone hasn't noticed... there is still a war on. In a way maybe it's better that everyone is focused elsewhere right now. Now, the soldiers and their families don't have to hear a bunch of crap about Nancy Sheehan, and how gitmo is a gulag.

Yes... Iron Maidens... think happy thoughts... all girl I ron Maiden cover bands... all the time... I'm in my happy place.

Ok, I'm better now. I like cover bands. Really, I guess I should say I like tribute bands and tribute albums.

Let's see what else is going on... hmm... oh yeah, tomorrow Anne and I will find out if we are having a girl or a boy. I thought that I wanted a boy more than a girl, but last night kind of changed that. I went to the gym last night to try to shed some of the flab that has accumulated all over me. I rode the bike for 45 minutes and walked at a 4 mph pace on the treadmill for another 45 minutes. While on the treadmill, I met Sydney. Sydney is 2 1/2 years old. Sydney is the daughter of one of the people who works at the gym. Sydney likes to talk... a lot. I couldn't really understand everything she said, due to the gym music and the noise of the treadmill. Also, she's 2 1/2, so she doesn't really speak clearly, but that didn't stop Sydney. She just kept on telling me all about it. She was possibly the cutest kid I had ever seen. The entire time she was talking to me, I just kept thinking about having a little girl. Hell, if it wasn't a crime, I would have brought her home. She was that cute.

So... what else... something political, or something regarding the military, right? I mean it's a blog... ostensibly a "Milblog". Hmmm… Well, I finished reading a book called GET SELECTED . I’m 35 (on Saturday… send money), I have bad feet, a bum shoulder, and I’m slower than a snail with a limp, but I can dream. Right? Seriously, this is a good book for anyone who is considering or has enlisted under an 18X contract. I would recommend this book for anyone thinking about going to OCS/NG OCS, or any non- “gentleman’s” course in the army.

Do… I.. use… 3… dots… too… much… yes… I… do…
